A little about us…

The Amaroo Neighbourhood Centre started in 1980 to support residents in Waverley's west ward with affordable goods and services. For over 40 years, Amaroo has helped those in need. It is funded by the Department of Families, Fairness & Housing and the City of Monash, along with grants and proceeds from the Op Shop.

Our Impact

Amaroo NC prides itself in the real impact and real value it consistently provides to the community. Neighbourhood Houses Victoria’s 2023 Community Value Report showed that Amaroo provides community value that equates to:

$4.03 for every $1 of income
$9.46 for every $1 of Neighbourhood House Coordination Program funding
Over $334.41 for every hour the neighbourhood house is in use

NHVic noted that the report method is very conservative and a value cannot be placed on many of the great outcomes Neighbourhood Houses generate. This may underestimate the value of Neighborhood Houses to the community.

We are proud of what Amaroo NC has achieved and its positive impact on the community. We hope to continue serving for many years to come.
